Oregon State Assembly of the Association of Surgical Technologists, Inc.

Restructuring of the Association of Surgical Technologists was put into action by the House of Delegates at the 1999 National Conference. Bylaw changes and the formation of a two tiered system of, State Assemblies and our National Organization.

With the change in bylaws, the Association of Surgical Technologists, mandated State members to form State Assemblies. This was to provide representation for all AST members of that State. The Oregon State Assembly was officially formed on October 7, 2000 and we received our Charter Certificate at Conference in Atlanta, May 2001. Our Mission Statement is "Promoting a High Standard of Quality Patient Care".

The Oregon State Assembly will manage the needs of its members at a local level and the Association of Surgical Technologists will continue to be the governing body for members of the Association. All Oregon resident Surgical Technologists that become members, or renew their membership with the Association of Surgical Technologist will be enrolled as members of the State Assembly

Currently, the Oregon State Assembly has approximately 150 members.
